Who We Are, And Why We're Doing This

Carrie Wrigley is a musician, counselor, actor,

teacher, songwriter, and mother of 5 kids - the last

of whom left home in July 2022. She's repurposing

her empty nest and newly available time to bring joy

to others, by giving new life to classic songs she has

loved for decades, as the soothing, dynamic voice

of Phoenix Arising.

Ken Mulroney is an ex-cop, trained as an actor in his

youth, who returned to acting after retiring from

law enforcement. He learned to play the drums in the process of losing his beloved first wife to complications from a heart transplant. Music has been a healing

force for him, that he now shares with others

as part of Phoenix Arising.

The Legend of the Phoenix

The phoenix is a strong but graceful mythical bird,

who is known for rising from the ashes, and being reborn

after significant struggle or even death.

This remarkable creature has the ability to heal

from the inside out, and generate its own new life

after rising from the ashes. So for centuries,

the phoenix has been a symbol of hope,

regeneration, and powerful rebirth.

For us as well, the phoenix has been an inspiration,

as we rebuild our lives in new forms after the old forms

have expired, and breathe fresh new life into old classic songs.
